During what has already been a history-making 2026 World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo keeps his loved ones close.
The 41-year-old Portuguese soccer star scored two goals during his team’s match against Uzbekistan on June 23, becoming the first player to score in six different World Cups. His family was with him every step of the way.
That’s because Ronaldo has his five children’s names on his cleats. In close ups of his footwear, under the Nike logo, one cleat has the names Matteo and Chris Jr. and the other has Eva Maria, Alana Martina and Bella.
Ronaldo is father to 16-year-old Cristiano Jr. The athlete has never publicly shared the name of his eldest son’s mother, saying in 2015 on “The Jonathan Ross Show,” “Some points in life (are) private and people have to respect the privacy. When Cristiano (grows) up, I am always going to say the truth to him because he deserves it, because he is my son. But I am not going to say because people want me to say.”
The superstar also welcomed twins Eva Maria and Mateo in 2017 with the help of a surrogate.
Ronaldo also shares 8-year-old daughter Alana Martina and 4-year-old daughter Bella with fiancée Georgina Rodríguez.
Baby Bella was a twin. However, the couple announced their son’s death shortly after Bella’s birth.
Over the years, Ronaldo has opened up about the importance of his family and kids. In an Instagram video, he’s said that when he receives any type of accolades, “I’m always thinking about my family, especially my kids.”
He called them his motivation to continue playing the sport.
Additionally, in an ESPN interview, Ronaldo touched on how he could have millions and billions of dollars “but the most important thing is… family.”
“But in the beginning, your family it’s always with you for the good moments and for the bad moments,” he added.
